Celebrate Bayside's BIG Summer Read!

Event Description

Join us at Sandringham Library to celebrate the end of the BIG Summer Read and to find out who the lucky prize winners are!

The BIG Summer Read is a statewide reading challenge, designed by Public Libraries Victoria, that encourages children to read over the school holidays to help combat the loss of literacy that can occur and is referred to as the “summer slide”.

Open to all children aged 0-18, the challenge runs from 1 December to 31 January annually. Read and record at least 10 books to enter the prize draw. You can read any type of book, including audiobooks, picture books, graphic novels... they all count, as does listening to a book read by someone else. If you entered the BIG Summer Read, come along to find out who the winners are.

There will be craft activities and fun for all ages, so come along and celebrate another BIG Summer of Reading at Bayside!
