Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony with the Bunurong Land Council

Event Description
The Bunurong Land Council are a Traditional Owner organisation that represent the Bunurong people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation. They aim to preserve and protect the sacred lands and waterways of their ancestors, their places, traditional cultural practices, and stories.
We are thrilled to have them come to Sandringham Library to offer a Welcome to Country and to perform a smoking ceremony.
The ceremony kicks off a full day of events at Sandringham Library for Reconciliation Week. From 11am-12pm, book in for an all-ages dance presentation by Djirri Djirri, stay on for delicious catering from 12-1pm by Mabu Mabu and, finally, book in for a writing workshop with Tony Birch from 1-3.30pm.
